Registered Nurse Susanna Lawrence's work in the Neonatal Unit was recognised at the 2017 Nurses and Midwives of Tairāwhiti (NAMOT) Acievement Awards.
Newborn Life Support Instructor and Lactation Consultant Susanna, was nominated for the Services to Nursing Award – sponsored and presented by Hauora Tairāwhiti Chief Executive Jim Green.
The Services to Nursing Award is for a nurse that is recognised as leading the way in providing excellent patient care. Nominees must also; be an advocate for nursing, influence nursing on a regional or national platform, be professional and proud to be a nurse in Hauora Tairāwhiti, embody WAKA Values and be acknowledged for their visionary approach.
Susanna was nominated by NNU Clinical Nurse Manager Barbara Reid.
“Susanna is a respected senior nurse who maintains a strong clinical interest in all areas of nursing and especially in the neonatal journey, consistently working towards best practice,” says Barbara.
“She is deeply involved in quality improvement, policy and procedure research and development and education. She supports and encourages personal and professional development, is a very good listener and an excellent teacher. Susanna will always go the extra mile and genuinely cares for clients and colleagues.”
